How many quarters make $10?
40 quarters = $10 (because $10 ÷ $0.25 = 40). This is one of the most common coin-counting questions for bank deposits and register closing.
Standard US coin rolls
- Pennies: 50 coins = $0.50 per roll
- Nickels: 40 coins = $2.00
- Dimes: 50 coins = $5.00
- Quarters: 40 coins = $10.00
Quick counting method
- Sort coins by denomination.
- Multiply each pile: count × value per coin.
- Add the subtotals for the grand total.
